At UFCW Local 401, we know the power our members have to make change in their communities, their cities, and in our province. As Alberta’s largest private sector union, we’re also keenly aware of how political decisions impact our members’ lives. As a result, we believe in being as engaged and active in political process as possible and encourage our members to do the same. Whether it is working to get NDP MLAs who will represent our interests in the Legislature elected, working with local groups to create positive change in our communities, or working on issues-based campaigns, UFCW Local 401 believes that building a better world is everyone’s responsibility.
Local 401’s Political Action Committee is actively involved in civic, provincial, and federal politics, all of which affect the lives of our members. We are proud of the work this committee does and are always interested in participation from members who also wish to engage in local politics in order to ensure worker interests are appropriately represented in the various levels of government.
If you’re interested in finding out what this committee is all about or want to join, please contact your full-time Union Representative for details.
