Safeway Steward and Activist Conference
UFCW Local 401 is excited to announce our first Safeway Stewards and Activist Conference May 28 – 31, 2015. The conference will be held at the Sheraton Cavalier (2620 32nd Avenue NE Calgary Alberta T1Y 6B8) www.sheratoncavaliercalgary.comShared accommodation will be provided for all out-of-town members. Member will be paid for two days and asked to volunteer their time for two days. UFCW Local 401 will provide childcare for all members who require it.
This conference is open to all members from across the province. Our goal is to inform stewards and activists about their new contract language and how to enforce it. At the conference Safeway stewards and activists will also participate in a training session that will equip them with the tools to welcome new Safeway hires into UFCW 401, taking advantage of the 30 minutes of company-paid time to explain the many benefits of membership in Local 401.
Although we are working out the details, here is the tentative agenda:

- Travel to Calgary (Bus schedule to be arranged)
- Dinner and opening plenary 6pm to 8pm

- Workshops 9 to noon
- Lunch Noon to 1
- Workshops are 1 to 4
