Leukemia/Lymphoma
Many people don’t realize just how devastating blood cancers like Leukemia and Lymphoma are. Every twenty-eight minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer in Canada and Leukemia and Lymphoma account for almost half of all childhood cancers (age 0-14 years). Every year, our union works to raise funds to support research for Leukemia and Lymphoma. We organize and contribute to a host of fundraising initiatives, including UFCW Local 401’s own annual golf tournament that raises thousands of dollars for research every year. As a result of our efforts, UFCW has become one of the strongest and most successful LLSC advocates in the country – a fact of which we are very proud!
