This course, offered through UFCW Canada’s webCampus, is a hybrid learning experience that we hope you will enjoy and be inspired from. In this online course, you will benefit from discussions about the course material with Indigenous activists and staff of UFCW 401.
You will also enjoy time learning at your own pace with the online materials, coming back to the main group intermittently for discussion. It is in these face-to-face online discussions where you will be able to share your experiences, thoughts, and have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have with our knowledgeable and dedicated facilitators.
UFCW 401 is committed to working with, and forming allyships with Indigenous, Metis, and Inuit people here on Turtle Island.
Local 401 has Indigenous activists who sit on the UFCW Canada Indigenous Subcommittee. These activists work with other Indigenous members from different UFCW locals across Canada to build community, spread awareness of Indigenous issues, advocating for, and working towards, reconciliation. Through this course you will get an introduction on Indigenous peoples, their culture, and history. With this knowledge, we hope that you will form, and continue to form allyships with the Indigenous community and spark a lifelong passion for learning about this fascinating and complex history.
