Mental Health Advocate

The strength of Local 401 is our members.

As members stand up and support each other, our union grows strong. Over the past few years, we have survived a pandemic, and in doing so learned how important mental health is in our personal and work lives. Thank you for your efforts in building our Local, and we’d like to invite you to learn more about the Mental Health Advocate program.

This volunteer program is offered through our partnership with UFCW’s webCampus.

Its goal is to deliver the knowledge and skills required to share mental health resources with others in the workplace. Graduates of this program can:

  • Provide relevant information to workers dealing with mental health challenges.
  • Add a notable credential to your resume.
  • Build solidarity in your work location by supporting co-workers.

The Mental Health Advocate program is entirely online and available to participants 24/7. So, whenever you have time to learn, this program is available. To graduate this program, participants will need to:

  • Enroll in the program
  • Complete all three courses in the Mental Health Matters series. These courses are designed for workers and are recognized by the Canadian Mental Health Association.
  • Complete the program assignment.
  • Watch the Mental Health Advocate webinars and successfully complete the quiz.
