Excel Society’s Gerard Raymond Centre is a non-profit organization and is funded by Persons with Developmental Disabilities, Alberta Health Services, and Child and Family Services.
The focus at the Centre is to help clients discover their personal qualities. The clients our members work with have a wide range of disabilities such as brain injuries, mental illness and mental health concerns like Alzheimer’s, dementia and physical disabilities. This day program offers individuals with developmental disabilities opportunities to access their communities in areas of recreation and leisure, supported volunteerism, work experience and fulfilling personal goals/needs. GRC offers classes and many activities such as dance, fitness and day trips.
We have 50 members who work at the GRC helping their clients with day to day challenges, and assisted courses which relating to communication and language, self-esteem, safety and hygiene, managing their finances, and much more.
