Operated by CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind), Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada (VLRC, or VLRA for the Alberta division) is an independent healthcare service provider that receives some of their funding through the Alberta Government, but relies largely on donors. They provide supports and assistance to the visually impaired through training, which helps people remain independent. Providing this tailored, in-home and community care is essential for those navigating their world with limited or no sight. This is a small bargaining unit of about a couple dozen VLRA members who work all around the province to provide stellar care and support for all requiring their services.
VLRA offices in Alberta include Edmonton, Calgary, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and Red Deer.
