Farewell: Bittersweet Day for Wapasu Members

June 8th marked a bittersweet day for Wapasu members as they bid farewell to one another. It was a day filled with mixed emotions, with sadness, hope, and gratitude mingled with determination.

First and foremost, we wanted to express our heartfelt appreciation to each of you. Your unwavering dedication, hard work, and the passion you brought to your roles have left a mark on all that have met you. The contributions you made during your time have been invaluable. 

As we say goodbye, it’s essential to recognize the challenges you faced together in recent weeks. We want to acknowledge the difficult circumstances that led up to June 8th and its impact on you and your families. Through it all, we witnessed your resilience and ability to navigate these uncertain times with dignity and grace.

It is crucial to emphasize that your departure does not sever the bonds you all have forged. UFCW Local 401 will be an unwavering pillar of support and will continue to stand by your side. It will tirelessly fight battles on the legal front, advocating for your rights and seeking justice. We are committed to ensuring you receive the fair treatment and opportunities you deserve as you embark on new journeys.

While this goodbye may feel overwhelming, we encourage you to remember the accomplishments achieved individually and as a team. Together, you tackled obstacles, celebrated victories, and built a community characterized by inclusivity, respect, and collaboration. 

As you step into the next chapter of your life, we want you to carry the hope that the future holds endless possibilities. Take pride in your achievements and the skills you have developed during your time at Wapusu. They will serve as a foundation for your future endeavours.
