Breanne Shemko – Scholarship

We are very proud to award the Grant Notley Memorial Scholarship to Breanne, a proud UFCW 401 member activist.

Breanne participates in both the Social Club and as a Field Safety Representative at the Safeway store she works at in Edmonton. She’s also active in community sports, playing soccer for the Macleod Royals.

She is finishing her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science at the University of Alberta, after which she plans to find work in her field in either a hospital or clinic.

“I’ve been working at Manning Safeway for five years and I would like to continue working there while I complete my degree, as well as becoming more involved with UFCW Local 401,” Breanna tells us.
