Jacquie is one of those workers who steps up when she’s called upon and cares about her coworkers and community. After 43 years at Safeway, she is joining the ranks of the retired.
Over the years she has worked at the lunch counter, bakery, been a cashier and front end supervisor, as well as mentoring others and serving as the stores health and safety representative. She is also a dedicated union member and walked her picket line for the full 75 days in 1997.
After also volunteering for things like Stampede breakfasts on her days off, Jacquie can now focus on interests outside the workplace. She tells us that on her list is finishing a home renovation, travelling to Europe, and taking the RV around Canada to explore all its beauty. Additionally, she plans to get into the garden and join a choir!
Your plans sound amazing, Jacquie! We wish you the very best in all your activities and travels. Thank you for your dedication to your community and your coworkers!
