After a busy and productive 20 years serving her community working at Superstore in the bakery, Margaret is entering her well-earned retirement.
Having supported and walked her picket line back in 2013, Margaret now plans to travel with her hubby back home to Newfoundland to spend time with family and friends. She is also excited to hang out with her children and grandchildren as often as she can.
She tells us that her “happy place” is in her kitchen, cooking, and baking. And both she and her husband love to read and work in their garden. We know this will provide many hours of happiness for the both of them now that they’ll have more time together.
“I would like to thank UFCW Local 401 for their support and continuous efforts on behalf of all our members, which ensures that we can enjoy safety, fairness, and the right to dignity and respect in our workplaces,” Margaret shares. “I have always felt very fortunate to be a member.”
And we are very fortunate to have your activism, community spirit, and membership in this great union. It’s because of members like yourself that UFCW 401 is such a great voice for working Albertans.
Congratulations on your retirement, Margaret. We wish you safe travels and many happy years in your retirement.
