Melbourne Marsden – Scholarship

Each year, the Calgary & District Labour Council awards two Sean Gillen Memorial Scholarships in the amount of $1500 each.

This year, UFCW Local 401 Member Melbourne Marsden is one of the lucky winners, congratulations!

Brother Melbourne has been working at Real Canadian Superstore in Calgary since May 2015. His mother, Helen, has been a UFCW Local 401 Member for 10 years, also working at Superstore. The Marsden family is a union family.

In his spare time, Melbourne enjoys fixing and modifying cars and computers as well as spending time with friends.

In the fall, Melbourne will study Biological Science at the University of Calgary. Continuing on, Melbourne plans to enter medical school and become a doctor. Quite impressive!

Melbourne is a bright young man with a great future ahead of him, we are proud to count him as one of our own! Congratulations, Melbourne, we wish you the best of luck in the future as you pursue your studies.
