Roy Wardley – Retirement

Roy was a Safeway employee since 1977 until the Sobeys takeover. At that time he stayed at the store he was in when it was sold to Co-op and has worked in grocery at North Central Co-op for the last 7 years.

After serving as a Shop Steward for his coworkers for many years, as well as sitting on the last several sets of contract renewal talks, Roy is looking forward to travelling and taking in as much golf as he can now that he’ll have the time.

“Roy has always been quick to assist members with any issues that arise and guide his fellow members in the workplace, whether it’s sharing advice or lending an ear,” Union Representative Cheryl Watamaniuk tells us. “I will miss Roy and I wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement.”

Congratulations, Roy! You have big shoes to fill and we thank you for all your service and dedication not only your customers and community, but to your coworkers as well.
