Yousef Sayegh – Retirement

Now looking forward to retirement, Yousef is saying farewell to a career that took him from being a Forman and Lead Hand in the packaging department, to serving his coworkers as a Shop Steward and attending a number of union events and conferences over his 44 years at Sofina Foods.

“I was a Steward under UFCW Local 1118 (before the merger) and had the opportunity to attend several conferences and hear from workers from other Locals about different ways to solve things,” Yousef tells us. “I also had a chance to assist a coworker through their arbitration.”

Yousef plans on relaxing for the first bit of his retirement and then will dig into some home projects and enjoy spending more time with his grandchildren. Trips to the mountains, doing some puzzles, and keeping active are also on his to-do list.
