To our ADL members: throughout the bargaining process, your union bargaining committee has striven to advance your issues, concerns and demands to the company.
Since negotiations began earlier this year, your bargaining committee has met with the company for a total of 18 days, including 2 days this week on February 3 and 4, 2025.
It has always been the goal of your bargaining committee to push your employer to put their best possible offer on the table so that members could have their say. While we reached agreements on several issues, we were unable to agree on an overall package. We felt the company still did not adequately address a number of your concerns.
That’s why your bargaining Committee applied to the Department of Mediation Services to request the assistance of a government appointed Mediator in late 2025. Your bargaining committee continued to pressure the company to improve their offer, and on February 4, 2026, they tabled what they described as their Final Offer.
While this offer does not address every issue that the membership brought forward, this offer does contain some significant improvements, which include:
Unfortunately, the “final” offer from the company also includes a couple of items that your committee felt could negatively affect members.
This included a clause that would change how statutory holidays are paid. If ratified, this change would mirror employment standards, and members would “not be entitled to general holiday pay if they are absent from work the last scheduled day before the holiday or the first scheduled day after the holiday and they do not have their employer’s consent for the absence.”
You can download a copy of the company’s offer of settlement here.
Please review the document thoroughly and direct any questions toward the members of your bargaining committee.
