ADM reluctant to change

After 8 days of contract negotiations, and 3 days of government assisted conciliation, it still very clear that the Company and your Union Bargaining Committee are very far apart on several issues, including shift scheduling, assignment of duties, overtime selection and Union representation to name a few, and we have not even begun to discuss monetary issues.   While it has been helpful to have the assistance of an impartial third party to help both sides come to an agreement, we still have a lot of work ahead of us.

ADM reluctant to change

As mentioned in the last update, ADM seems to be very set in their ways and does not want to deviate in the slightest from what they consider standard language that exists in other ADM collective agreements across North America.  Naturally, this is concerning as standard language does not always reflect the current practice at your plant and you have told us that the status quo does not address the needs of the workers.

The Employer has even refused to allow the Union to post the last 2 bargaining updates on the bulletin boards in the plant, which has led to the Union filing additional grievances.

Meet with your Bargaining Committee

With the help of the Mediator, we have been able to secure June 28, July 5 and September 7-9, 2021, to continue the bargaining process.   In preparation for these next rounds of discussions, your committee feels that it is very important to hold a virtual meeting with the members to provide further updates and answer any questions that you might have.   The information for these meetings can be found below:
