Bayshore: Essential Services Agreement –Call to Action

Dear Bayshore Members,

“The dedication of Bayshore workers to their clients is truly admirable – a calling that deserves respect and fair treatment. However, we cannot allow their sense of duty to become a chain that binds them to unfair conditions. Noble purpose should elevate working conditions, not suppress them.”

Tom Hesse, President, UFCW Local 401

We want to inform you that UFCW Local 401 has taken the next step forward by serving notice to Bayshore to bargain an Essential Services Agreement, a crucial development in our ongoing efforts to secure better working conditions and fair treatment for all Bayshoreworkers.

Share this important campaign with your friends and family. They can show their support for Bayshore workers by sending a letter to:

  • Minister of Health Adriana Lagrange
  • Strathmore MLA Chantelle de Jonge
  • Bayshore Management

Use the link HERE to send your support letter.

Sharing the Bayshore campaign webpage is a critical step in building the collective strength needed to achieve meaningful change. Every share amplifies our voices and pressures Bayshore to recognize the urgent need for fair treatment, respect, and improved conditions for the workers who care for our communities. This movement isn’t just about you or your coworkers –it’s about ensuring dignity and justice for everyone who relies on caregiving services. By sharing this link with your friends, family, and networks, you’re helping to shine a light on our cause, mobilize public support, and create momentum that cannot be ignored. Together, we can make a real difference, but it starts with each of us taking action today.

“When we talk about care work, we must appreciate that caregivers and clients form an inseparable bond. If our workers struggle under the weight of inadequate support and compensation, the quality of care inevitably suffers. We need to lift our workers so they can continue lifting others.”

Richelle Stewart, Treasurer, UFCW Local 401
