In homes in Alberta tonight, Bayshore workers are doing what they always do – being the daily lifeline for our seniors and most vulnerable citizens. They’re not just caregivers; they’re often the only friendly face their clients see all day. The one who notices when something’s wrong. The one who ensures medication is taken, meals are eaten, and dignity is preserved.
Take Action Now:
“Every day Bayshore refuses to offer fair wages is another day our home care workers have to make impossible choices between paying rent and buying groceries. While the cost of living continues to rise, the company refuses to provide meaningful wage increases.” – Richelle Stewart, Secretary-Treasurer UFCW Local 401
Our home care workers ensure no client goes without attention, Bayshore Home Health continues to refuse any meaningful movement on wages. In today’s economy, that’s not just disrespectful – it’s cruel.
“As Bayshore Home Health executives likely prepare for comfortable holiday celebrations, their frontline care workers wonder if they can afford to put presents under the tree this year. When our members have to choose between heating their homes and feeding their families this winter, we must ask: where is Bayshore’s holiday spirit? Their corporate stockings may be full, but they’re leaving their workers out in the cold. Our members deserve respect and fair wages now.” – Thomas Hesse, President UFCW Local 401
Our home care workers are the backbone of long-term care, yet they’re treated as an afterthought:
We need your help to send Bayshore a message they can’t ignore.
Every day they delay is another day these workers struggle to put food on their own tables while caring for our beloved grandparents, parents, siblings, and friends.
The time for waiting is over. Our home care workers need action now.
