CMS: A Good Offer with Some Cautions

You will find the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that was negotiated with the company here.

The company has put a fair wage offer on the table of 10% for each of the next 2 years, which makes a total 20% wage increase moving forward. This offer will see the membership’s current wage range of $15.00 to $15.75 an hour go up to $18.00 to $18.90 an hour.

You will see a note attached to the contract language in Article 19.03 that says the company can use operators and supervisors to staff the gas bars. This was the condition the company requested in exchange for tabling the wage offer mentioned above. The committee wanted to flag this for the membership, as it could potentially lead to a reduction of hours.

The MOA also includes improvements to:

  • Union representation
  • Probationary period language
  • Increase to Management Relief Premium
  • Increase to Bereavement Leave
  • Improvement to cold weather clothing language, anti-fatigue mats language, heating in gas bars, customer abuse language and sick notes language.
  • New Transfer language
  • New Employee Rights Language

We encourage all members to review the offer carefully and make sure to ask any questions you have. We will be conducting the vote via email. If you know someone who has not received this email, please have them connect the Union Office to update their email so they will receive their ballot to vote.

Information meetings will be held on Zoom at 9:00am and 4:00pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. You can find the links to those meetings here:
