Important Update for Save-On’s UFCW Members!
ATTN: UFCW Local 1118 & 401 Members at Save-On Foods Meat & Deli, & Retail – Bargaining Update
As you may know, both of your unions, UFCW 1118 and UFCW 401, have been doing joint bargaining for approximately 14 days. We have just wrapped up our 5th session.
We have entered into the monetary aspect of bargaining and believe that we will need one more meeting to have something for members to vote on. It is our intention to move this process along and we have advised your employer that we intend on applying for mediation to achieve this. Mediation should assist us in getting closure to bargaining.
Currently we still have a lot of monetary proposals on the table and there is not much desire from your employer to consider them. We have had a good set of bargaining with your employer but as we all know when it comes to money, things change. Our hopes are that it continues to be respectful.
We are going to be scheduling one more set of dates to meet with your employer, with the mediator present and we should have an offer for you to vote on after this time.
We are working to move the process forward and to achieve a new Union Contract for you and have something for you to review as soon as we possibly can. We ask that you check your website (ufcw1118.org) or (ufcw401.ca) for future dates and bargaining updates, which will all be posted once we secure them.
