Proposals Available for Members’ Review

Collective Bargaining Begins

Your Union Negotiating Committee met and began bargaining with the company last week on September 6-8. While this is just the beginning of the bargaining process, each side gave opening statements to talk about themes and goals for the future, followed by an exchange of proposals. Usually, the bargaining process starts by addressing non-monetary items before any monetary items are discussed. During these three days, we had a lot of good discussions and were able to come to some agreements on the topics of job postings, union representation, leaves of absence, and other housekeeping matters (simple changes that don’t involve any change to your rights and protections).

Open and Transparent Bargaining

Under President Thomas Hesse and Secretary-Treasurer Richelle Stewart, and with the support of your Executive Board, your union continues to support and encourage an open and transparent approach to collective bargaining. This means that your committee will be providing regular updates and creating opportunities for you to be more involved as the process continues.

As such, we are providing you with the initial bargaining proposals from both your union and the company for you to review.

IMPORTANT: If you did not receive a copy of the proposals by email, please contact your local union office or a member of your Union Negotiating Committee to update your contact information. To download a copy of the proposals you can scan the QR codes below. Alternatively, members of your Negotiating Committee can provide you with a paper copy.
