Refresco: Members Ratify a New & Improved Agreement!

UFCW Local 401 members at Refresco have voted to accept the Company’s latest improved offer by 86%.

Highlights of the offer included:

  • 17.5% wage increase over four years (most members will see a nearly $6 per hour increase over the life of the contract).
  •  6% wage increase in 2024 is retroactive to the expiration of the contract (email spayne@ufcw401.ab.ca for your estimated retro payout)
  • $500 sign-on bonus upon ratification
  • Improvements to the employee benefits plan in the following areas:
    • Vision Care ($325 to $375)
    • Massage Therapy ($500 to $600)
    • Physiotherapy ($500 to $600)
    • Chiropractic ($500 to $600)
    • Mental Health ($500 to $1,000)
  • Increased Sick Pay to 60 hours per year
  • Increased Safety Footwear Allowance to $250 per year
  • An additional Statutory Holiday for all Refresco employees (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, September 30)
  • New language limiting changes to Scheduled Shifts
  • New language around the posting and finalization of the Overtime Sign-Up Sheet
  • New language limiting Emergency Overtime
  • New language around Health and Safety
