Hello UFCW Starlight Casino members,
Negotiation started this week with three productive days of bargaining. Your negotiating committee and the company representative met at the union office and exchanged proposals.

All members are welcome to come and observe negotiations. The term we use is open bargaining. Negotiations are meant to be open and transparent to the membership.
You can watch this video on open bargaining to learn more.
“It was a productive three days of negotiations,” said Chris O’Halloran, Executive Director for UFCW Local 401. “We have not gotten to the important issues around money, but the company has been willing to negotiate and agree to contract improvement so far.”
We will also share our proposal tracker with the members so they can follow along as negotiations progress. You can view the proposal tracker HERE.
The membership was represented at the negotiation table by a large committee:
“While we’ve made some initial progress, we’re acutely aware of the affordability crisis facing our members,” said UFCW Local 401 President Tom Hesse. “As we move into discussions on wages and benefits, we anticipate tougher negotiations ahead. I urge our membership to stay informed, engaged, and prepared to stand united as we fight for a fair deal that addresses the rising cost of living.”
