We’re All Part of Negotiations

Your union and Bargaining Committee firmly believe that we’re more successful in negotiations when the process we follow is inclusive. By providing members with regular and comprehensive updates, we’re able to speak with a strong and unified voice and achieve meaningful victories toward securing a fair contract.

This practice is called “open bargaining” and it’s kind of like ensuring we’re all sitting at the bargaining table together!

In fact, you can sit at the bargaining table with your Bargaining Committee, if you want. In open bargaining, members are encouraged to attend meetings to see how negotiations are going firsthand and demonstrate their solidarity.

Even during the restrictions of COVID-19, the technology that we are using to ensure bargaining moves forward can be used to include and engage Superstore members in the process.

Watch the following video to learn more about open bargaining and the rotating committee practices that your union uses to make negotiations open, transparent, and member-driven.

If you would like to participate in our upcoming negotiations with Loblaws happening September 21-25, 2020, or any future meetings, speak with your Labour Relations Officer.

The more that Superstore members are engaged and active around negotiations, the stronger we are the bargaining table, and the more successful we will be!
