Affordable Child Care for All

The federal election is coming up and childcare is a very important issue for our members.

UFCW has partnered with the Child Care Now coalition to raise awareness on the childcare crisis in Canada. Child Care Now has put together a plan, the Affordable Child Care for All Plan which is evidence-based and arises from extensive consultations and policy discussions with individuals and organizations across Canada. Here are some actions you can take and share with your members:

1. You can add your voice to the call for a national strategy to make publicly funded, quality, affordable childcare available for every family who wants it by sending a message from the ufcw.ca/childcare webpage to the leaders of the five federal political parties, calling on them to support the plan.
2. Endorse the plan Affordable Child Care for All Plan by sending an email to Child Care Now, confirming your endorsement.
