Attention CRW Union Members

As you are aware, we are having a vote on the Company’s offer on Wednesday, January 25, and Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the Warehouse.

You will likely also be aware we are involved in a matter at the Alberta Labour Relations Board where we are arguing that if there is a need to strike, we should be entitled to picket in front of Sobeys-owned grocery stores such as Sobeys, Safeway, FreshCo, and IGA. 

Unfortunately, that matter has become complicated.

We are not optimistic the Labour Board will be fair about determining our right to mount a strong strike if you reject the offer and such action becomes necessary. We are studying the matter carefully to determine the best way forward. 

We know that some of you would like to know the outcome of this issue before you vote on the offer. In addition to having in-person voting on January 25 and 26, we are looking at the possibility of having an online opportunity to vote after that. Until further notice, you should plan on voting on one of the two existing scheduled days to ensure your voice is heard.
