Recently, UFCW Local 401 launched the Community Alliance Taskforce, a working group that seeks to build alliances and solidarity with groups and communities in our broader union world. To help with that important work, we are conducting a survey to help us to better understand the UFCW Local 401 membership.
This should only take 4 minutes to complete. Just click here or the image below to get started.
A union is a community of people who come together to achieve common interests. While we are all different, we are united by the things that affect us, mainly in our workplaces.
In our work, we bring together working Albertans from a wide variety of industries, such as retail, food and beverage production and processing, hospitality, healthcare, and education. From that perspective, we are one of Alberta’s most diverse unions.
But we also know that our members come from all corners of the globe and that our diversity extends beyond our industries and workplaces and into the fabric of who we are.
A union should seek to build and strengthen community bonds and solidarity. If we know who our members are, we are far better able to connect workplace concerns with those of broader communities. That’s where we’re coming from.
Please note that, as part of our survey design, completion of this survey is entirely voluntary, and responses can be anonymous. That said, if you want to leave us your contact information for us to follow-up with you, please do so within the survey. We also advise that this survey will not be used for profiling respondents.
Should you have any questions about the survey, please email the Local 401 Community Alliance Taskforce at CAT@ufcw401.ab.ca or visit the CAT website at community401.ca
Thank you so much for your participation in this project. The information you provide will make a big difference.
