Edmonton’s Pride Parade Details are Announced!
Edmonton’s Pride Parade is moving from the downtown core. Event organizers have been talking about this possibility for awhile now and everyone is very excited about the new location.
The event has been so successful in its growth in terms of participation and interest from the thousands of spectators that the parade simply has to move to another location.
This year it will be on Whyte Avenue. Why is that? Event organizers had this to say;
Old Strathcona holds the roots of Pride in Edmonton. In fact, it is where the first march took place! To this day Old Strathcona is one of the most LGBT friendly communities in our city. We have been welcomed with open arms by the Old Strathcona Business Association, other festivals that take place in the area as well as the farmers market and local residents.
