IT’S COMING: Telephone Town Hall Meting on October 23rd!
This is a reminder that our next telephone town hall meeting is coming up soon! It’s happening on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024, at 7 PM.
Please let us know by e-mail if you will be attending at gmm@ufcw401.ab.ca, and get your name entered to win a $100 grocery gift card!
The theme of this meeting is union education and training. We’re proud to welcome three amazing guest speakers:
- Nate Leblanc-Fortin is a long-time union activist, a Shop Steward and Safeway member, and a member of our Executive Board.
- Kayla Anderson is a Superstore member with over 15 years of experience, a Shop Steward and a Member Facilitator.
- Marv Funk is UFCW’s experienced and renowned National Director of Training and Education, and a member of the National Education Committee.
Our guest speakers will talk about how we train new leaders to carry forward the vital work of the labour movement, and also about how your union’s education programs can help you enjoy personal growth and take on life’s challenges with flexibility and resilience. It’s a discussion you won’t want to miss!

As we’ve mentioned previously, you’ll have the option of watching our town hall live via video stream or listening in on your phone.

As explained in the video, all our members will be emailed a unique link to access the meeting. By clicking that link, you can watch the meeting on your phone, tablet, or laptop.
But don’t worry! If you just want to listen on your phone like always, you’ll still be able to do that. Those members who do not use the link we send to watch the video stream of the meeting will get a phone call to join the town hall the way we’ve always done.
If you don’t use the link we send you, all you need to do to participate in our town hall is answer our phone call immediately prior to the start of the meeting. You will be automatically connected to the meeting so you can listen in and ask questions, just like always.
