Knowledge is Power: Union Expertise is Working for Sofina Calgary Members!
Yesterday, dozens of workers at Sofina Calgary braved a winter storm to come out and meet with President Thomas Hesse and other union officials. It was a chance to learn more about a truly awful settlement offer from their company and what it really contains, as they decide how to vote on it.
These meetings were a great example of members taking the time to benefit from the information their union can provide. We delivered reporting on the poultry industry in Canada — an industry that is more profitable than ever — and about who Sofina is as a company and the fairness of their so-called “final” offer.
That analysis is just one example of the expertise we provide to our members, helping them make informed, timely decisions while under pressure from employers intent on getting them to ratify an offer.
