President Hesse reaches out to professional hockey players for solidarity

UFCW Local 401 represented employees at the Grand Villa Casino in downtown Edmonton and Starlight Casino in West Edmonton Mall are facing down a new and vicious form of anti-union sentiment. Their bosses from Gateway Casinos are looking to gut their union contract completely and have no plan to keep customers and employees safe from COVID-19 when the casinos re-open.

Our union’s job is to look for every ally we can find to assist our members and build worker solidarity. Hockey players have a union too!
