While many people around the country are celebrating the Leap Manifesto for its efforts to start the discussion on transitioning away from non-renewable resources, Alberta workers are left with the distinct and uncomfortable feeling that niceties and platitudes offer no concrete solutions and are simply not helpful for those left, once again, without employment and income to support their families.

UFCW 401 President, Doug O’Halloran breaks down the essential facts and realities facing all workers who are connected in one way or another to this industry in order to help explain why tougher discussions need to happen if workers are not going to pay the high cost of necessary transitions, now and in the future.
