Remembering where you come from on Labour Day

This Labour Day long weekend, it’s important for those of us in the Labour Movement to remember where we come from.

“There are many, many people in this world that have a feeling inside of them and need a voice. And we need to give people the opportunity to amplify those voices. Unions need to be there to give people voices when they can’t find them themselves.”

– UFCW Local 401 President, Thomas Hesse

“I just can never get away from believing that workers deserve better. That fairness is something that just doesn’t come without somebody or some group of people always standing up for it.”

– UFCW Local 401 Secretary Treasurer, Richelle Stewart
