It’s coming…

Safeway and Sobeys are going to be subject to increased exposure in the coming days, weeks, and months.

They are very vulnerable.

Albertans and Canadians are sick and tired of greedflation and high grocery prices. Workers are tired of low wages and Safeway’s manipulation tactics.

Safeway employees can’t afford to shop where they work!

Grocery prices have been the subject of scrutiny in the media for months and months. Politicians at all levels of government talk about them. Your friends and neighbours talk about them. They are a symbol of the affordability crisis.

At your direction, we are now arranging meetings with Safeway on December 16-20, 2024, to commence early bargaining around workplace issues.

Safeway has threatened you and put you under pressure. But increasingly, Safeway will be under pressure too.

95% of Safeway employees have expressed a willingness to strike. Safeway faces numerous legal actions in arbitration, at the Labour Board, and in court. Customers and the public are starting to ask questions.
