Did you know there are 32,000 UFCW Local 401 members working in nearly every major sector of the Alberta economy? We are Alberta’s largest private-sector union, and UFCW members provide key services in food retail, processing and services, hospitality, gaming, warehousing, healthcare, and education.
In our continuing efforts to bring these diverse voices together, we are holding a General Membership Meeting for all UFCW Local 401 members. These meetings are a great way to hear what’s going on across our Local and ask questions of your union leadership and fellow members.
Again, these General Membership Meetings are open to ALL UFCW Local 401 Members
Here are the details of the next meeting:
How to join the call: Just before the call, all UFCW Local 401 members with updated contact information should receive a phone call inviting them to join the call. If you do not receive a call, you can also participate online by using the following link:
If you don’t have access to the internet, you can request the call-in details by writing us well in advance of the meeting at ufcw@ufcw401.ab.ca
In this General Membership Meeting, you can expect an update on ongoing negotiations and rapidly evolving matters surrounding the reopening of Alberta’s economy and its impact on all Local 401 members. This kind of meeting is a great way to hear about the situations fellow UFCW Local 401 members are facing across the province.
We often have guest speakers covering topics of importance to all members. Additionally, we will cover the normal, procedural union General Membership Meeting topics, including a review of previous minutes, union finances, and other matters. Participants can also expect to be polled on a variety of topics.
Members participating in the call can dial *3 to ask a question LIVE or have their question read out for all members to hear.
Because these meetings are often jam-packed with information, should you have specific questions you would like us to cover, let us know in advance by emailing us at ufcw@ufcw401.ab.ca. You can always ask us follow-up questions after the call by writing to the same address.
