Solidarity Rally & March for Red Deer Postal Workers!

As our brothers, sisters and friends in the labour movement face struggles across Canada and all over Alberta, UFCW Local 401 is calling on our members to come out and show their strength and solidarity.

On December 2nd, 2024, CUPW Local 818 is hosting a rally in support of nationwide job action at Canada Post. We will be rallying and marching at 6740 67 A street, Red Deer at 4:00 PM.

“Our local union faces high-stakes battles against powerful employers in the weeks, months, and years to come,” says UFCW Local 401 President Thomas Hesse. “Our members know the value of solidarity and that we need to stand strong with striking Canada Post workers right now. There will come a time when we’ll ask for the same in return if we need to go on strike.”

“We have to remember that we are all part of the same fight for better workplaces and a better world,” agrees UFCW 401 Secretary Treasurer Richelle Stewart. “Victories become possible when we all stand together.”

CUPW Local 818 members are standing strong. Let’s stand with them!

In the words of Karen Reay, Secretary-Treasurer of the Red Deer District & Labour Council: “Let’s get our marching boots on, bring our flags and make that picket line very long.”

We urge you to attend this event and show 401 strength and solidarity with striking postal workers!

In solidarity,
Your Union
