THE STRIKE VOTE IS COMING!

Preparing for a strike vote is all about showing the employer that you are standing together.

A 98% or 100% yes vote is a strong signal that everyone is united and ready to fight for a fair contract that addresses the squeeze you are facing from the cost-of-living crisis.

Another great way to show that you are standing together in support of a strike is to make sure you have a union hard hat sticker. If you don’t have a sticker, connect with your union steward or a member of the Bargaining Committee to get one.

If you see one of your co-workers has lost their sticker and hasn’t noticed, go get one for them.

The third way you can help the Union prepare for a strike vote is by connecting us with the leaders in your community. This strike will not only impact Cargill and their customers. It will also impact the community.

If you are able, please connect with Teresa or Devin so they can arrange for you to receive a letter asking your community or religious leaders for their support of the strike.

If it’s easier, we are happy to arrange to meet and discuss the strike with your community or religious leaders. We will follow your lead, but it is important that cultural and community leaders know that the strike is coming before they feel its impact.

Finally, we still need a couple more strike leaders. Please fill out the form at this link to sign up for training.

If you decide you are not comfortable being a Picket Captain after you receive the training, that is fine. You will still be paid for the training and will be more prepared to strike.
