UFCW Local 401 Will Host This Year’s NDF Conference: July 26-28 in Calgary!

The National Defence Fund (NDF) is a crucial resource for UFCW Canada members and their local unions. This fund provides added financial resources for workers who are striking or facing a lockout.

The fund can make a critical difference in negotiations even before a strike takes place — employers know that workers who have access to the NDF are much harder to intimidate out of striking — and could very easily prove to be a critical tool for workers in Alberta and across Canada in the months to come.

The NDF has been supporting UFCW members and local unions for three decades. The fund’s annual convention brings together delegates from across the country to share insights, review bargaining strategies, and build collective strength across UFCW’s core industries.

This year, Local 401 has the honour of hosting that conference in Calgary from July 26th – 28th!

The conference is an exciting opportunity to connect, learn from one another, and bring that knowledge back to better support our members. As the hosts, we aim to send a strong, highly visible delegation this year. Your presence can make a big difference in shaping conversations that will significantly affect bargaining strength and outcomes across the country.
