Duane Smith – Retirement

After 11 years at Superstore in Calgary, Duane is joining the wonderful world of retirement.

Having spent his career as a meat cutter at various UFCW represented workplaces, (Canada Packers, Safeway, and Superstore) Duane’s union activism is indeed inspiring.  As an active Shop Steward, Duane also sat on various negotiating committees and pursued his passion for workplace health and safety through both the Calgary & District Labour Council and the Alberta Federation of Labour.

Duane is looking forward to hanging out with friends and family and getting in touch with his artistic side through painting and drawing.

He is quick to point out that after all his years of involvement with his union that he also very much wants to keep in touch with his fellow 401 members.

We send our most heartfelt congratulations to Duane on his retirement.
