Having worked at Safeway and then North Central Co-op for 32 years in the Front End and Variety, Judi is excited to get to many of the fun things awaiting her in retirement.
A strong union activist and supporter, Judi’s sense of community is shown through her many activities with her union. From walking the picket line during the 75 day Safeway strike in 1997, to various rallies and events, she was a familiar and friendly presence in her union.
We asked her what she plans to do with her time in retirement.
“I’m going to take some time to relax, visit family in Ontario, and enjoy quality time with family and friends.”
She will also get in touch with her creative side and dive into hobbies such as painting and knitting.
“The union has always had my back and it was a very positive experience,” she shares.
Thank you so much for your support in making your workplace friendly and welcoming, Judi. Building strong unions begins with members just like you, who look out for and embrace others. We wish you all the very best in a long, happy, and healthy retirement.
