Shirley has had a very diverse career over her 21 years with McKesson Canada. Starting as a receptionist, she moved into hospital services before moving to her final position in the warehouse as a picker and receiver. She has also been around long enough to have been involved in two important milestones.
“I was involved in both the shortest strike in UFCW Local 401’s history (45 minutes), as well as our more lengthy strike in 2010 that lasted 66 days,” she recalls.
Shirley is excited to spend more time with loved ones during summers at the lake, taking up gardening, walking a lot, and spending lots of quality time with her pups.
“I am very happy to be retired,” she shares happily.
We are thrilled for your well-earned retirement too, Shirley. All the very best to you. May it be full of warm summers on the lake and many lovely walks with your fuzzy babies. Congratulations!
