Your Union Bargaining Committee met and exchanged proposals with the Company on October 1-3, 2025. While this is just the beginning of the bargaining process, each side gave opening statements to talk about themes and goals for the future followed by an exchange of proposals. We had early discussions on a number of topics including the cost of living, hours of work, vacations, Union representation, and came to small agreements on some housekeeping matters.
Under the continued leadership of President Thomas Hesse and Secretary Treasurer Richelle Stewart, and with the support of the Executive Board, the local has adopted an open and transparent approach to collective bargaining. This means that your Bargaining Committee will be providing regular updates and creating opportunities for you to be more involved as the process continues.
As such, we are sending out copies of the initial bargaining proposals from both the Union and the Company. As these are initial positions, it is too early to tell where the Company’s priorities lie. Your Bargaining Committee’s perspective made it clear that the membership has high expectations for this round of bargaining and making sure that your financial needs are met must be our top priority.
To ensure this, your Bargaining Committee will need your continued support through this process to achieve a renewed Collective Agreement that you can be proud of.
