Hinton Safeway Members Enjoy Their First Lunch & Learn

On April 30th, members at Hinton’s Safeway put on their very first Lunch & Learn at their store and it was a huge success!

Shop Stewards were on hand to share  information about available health benefits, dental coverage, the many available scholarships, and UFCW Canada’s free online learning resource; webCampus.  Members were very excited to hear about all the things they have access to simply for being members of Canada’s most dynamic union.

In addition to the members sharing loads of valuable information on all the benefits of belonging to Local 401, Store Manager Brett provided enough food to feed the store for 2 days!  A warm thank you to him for his generosity.

Local 401 Senior Labour Relations Officer Larry Zima was also on hand with his lap top to show curious members how to access all the free courses available on UFCW Canada’s webCampus, as well as 401’s website, Facebook, and Twitter pages.

There were prizes to be had as well!  Water bottles, belt buckles, carrying cases, and even portable speakers were given away.

A big 401 THANK YOU to all our amazing Hinton members who helped make the day such a big success through their own contributions and enthusiastic participation.  Members talking to members is the best education there is and we could not be happier with the involvement of everyone who helped to spread the word about all the benefits of belonging to UFCW 401!
