Dental and Health Benefits
Our meeting hosts will also be talking about important information regarding dental and health and welfare benefits available to part-time employees.
Thousands of UFCW members across Canada have, through their union bargaining committees, negotiated dental and health benefit plans that are fully paid for by their employers. These benefit plans are administered by a non-profit benefit trust called The PBAS Group. Members who enroll, and work as little as an average of ten hours per week, enjoy a number of benefits. The plans provide dental, prescription, vision care, sick pay, and a death benefit program for themselves and their dependents.
We have provided a brief video, which describes what a benefit trust is, how it functions, and what this means for members.
