Santa Makes a Special Appearance in Red Deer

On December 2nd some of our newest 401 members (through the recent merger between Locals 401 & 1118) were surprised with a fun filled visit from Santa Claus himself.

The Christmas festivities were held at the Carnival Cinema movie theatre in Red Deer where all in attendance watched Polar Express.  Children big and small had a chance to not only watch a fun Christmas movie, they also got to munch on pizza, candy, popcorn, and of course have a visit from the Big Man himself!

Santa handed out grab bags filled with candies, stickers, and other lovely treats.  With approximately 160 kids to give these to, he was busy!

We want to send a big thank you to all who came and enjoyed the day with us.  We also want to extend a big shout out to Olymel for sponsoring the theatre and popcorn.  It was a successful partnership and we thank them.  Lastly, a special thank you to 401 member and Unit Chair Amanda Bischler for organizing this wonderful event.

“I had an amazing group of helpers and couldn’t have done it without them,” Amanda said.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this possible.  It’s a great time of year to celebrate our solidarity and share our joy with each other.

Merry Christmas to all our new 401 members from former 1118.  We look forward to achieving and celebrating many collective successes to come.
