Special Retail Telephone Town Hall for UFCW 401 Members

COVID-19 and Negotiations

UFCW Local 401 retail food members working at Safeway, Superstore, Save-On, Co-op, and IGA members face unique challenges in confronting COVID-19. This is all the more complicated as many of you are in negotiations. As part of our continuous outreach at this important time, we want to hear from you.

What’s the Telephone Town Hall About?

This Wednesday, April 8th, we will be holding another telephone town hall. This time it is a special meeting focussing on situations facing our retail grocery, liquor store, and gas bar members. This call will once again be hosted by UFCW Local 401 President, Thomas Hesse, and Secretary-Treasurer, Richelle Stewart. In addition to your elected officers, there will be other special guests.

We will focus on important information regarding ongoing and upcoming negotiations and also cover your questions on what’s been happening with COVID-19. Just like last week’s all-member telephone town hall, we will be seeking your input through polling questions, as well as opening up the phones for questions.

There will be much to discuss and we also look forward to the opportunity to take questions from our amazing members.

How can I participate?

You will receive a phone call on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 inviting you to join the 7:00 PM call.

If you miss that call, or if you didn’t get a call from us because we don’t have your current phone number, don’t worry. We have sent all members an email with all the details about how to call in and connect with us.

Please check your email (and junk folder if it’s not in your inbox) for the special invitation for UFCW Local 401 retail members only.

If you have not received the email, please contact your Union Labour Relations Officer or write to ufcw@ufcw401.ab.ca for call in details.

Solidarity!
