UFCW Local 401 General Membership Meeting Coming Up!
Union to hold Province-wide General Membership Meeting via Telephone Townhall on May 27
COVID-19 presents our union with many operational challenges, but we’ve risen to the occasion. Our spirit and voices have been strong throughout the pandemic.
Our union has taken bold and decisive action and provided voice and support for frontline workers across the country. We have been at the forefront of important issues faced by our members on a national and international stage. UFCW Local 401 members have been visible and are being heard!
Being a member of a union also means participating and being active in it. There are many ways to do that, and one is through attending General Membership Meetings.
Obviously, calling for large physical gatherings would be irresponsible at this time. But our internal governance processes must continue to function.
Our UFCW Local 401 leadership is committed to finding new ways of doing things during the pandemic – this includes holding General Membership Meetings in new formats that will allow for physical distancing but also broad and accessible participation for members across Local 401.
Instead of holding physical General Membership Meetings across the province, we will be hosting a Telephone Townhall General Membership Meeting open to all UFCW Local 401 members.
The details of that meeting are as follows:

Time: 7:00PM
Location: Just before the call, all UFCW Local 401 members with updated contact information should receive a phone call inviting them to join the call. UFCW Local 401 members can also participate online by using the following link: https://bit.ly/UFCWTTH
The interactive Telephone Townhall meeting will be hosted by UFCW Local 401 President, Thomas Hesse, and Secretary-Treasurer, Richelle Stewart. It will cover topics such as current union contract negotiations, COVID-19 matters, an overview of union business, reports, and union finances. UFCW Local 401 members will be invited to ask questions and participate in survey polls during the call.
