UFCW Local 401 Launches New Website and Contest

CALGARY – Today the United Food and Commercial Workers Canada Union, Local 401 (UFCW Local 401) proudly launched its new website ufcw401.ca designed to improve access to services for more than 30,000 union members across the province.

“The new design makes information about rates of pay, benefits and rights at work easily accessible for members,” UFCW Local 401 President Doug O’Halloran said. “This is a leap forward in our efforts to engage our membership and we hope our members will find the website valuable and a great way to connect with their union,” President O’Halloran said.

The new ufcw401.ca website has a fresh, modern look and is filled with member-driven systems, search tools and features. Now members can submit union rebates online and quickly find employer benefit forms to download for their use. A handy translation tool also allows our diverse membership to see this content in various world languages.

Soon, the website will launch even more upgraded features including the ability to view your union contract online and a Stewards Lounge where UFCW Local 401 Shop Stewards can discuss workplace issues and exchange documents to support their union work.

To mark this milestone, Local 401 is kicking-off a month-long UFCW401.CA Member Appreciation Contest and will be giving away some valuable prizes to lucky winners! We’re giving away: one 16 GB iPad; one 50” TV; one $500 Safeway gift card; and one $500 Real Canadian Superstore gift card! The Member Appreciation Contest will also feature weekly social media contests and prizes announced every Thursday. Full contest rules and instructions on how members can enter the Contest can be viewed at ufcw401.ca.

UFCW Local 401 is Alberta’s largest private sector union representing more than 30,000 members in a variety of industries across the province.
