Dean Lefebvre – Scholarship
Dean is yet another shining example of just how driven and hardworking our UFCW 401 members are. Dean has been working at Sobeys Warehouse for nearly 9 years, and is currently a forklift operator.
Availing himself of the many benefits of belonging to Local 401, he has successfully pursued, for the second time, another UFCW sponsored scholarship to assist in the cost of his post-secondary education. Having previously won the Grant Notley Memorial Scholarship a couple years ago, Dean’s latest efforts recently won him the Robert McWillams Memorial Scholarship.
Dean has been enrolled at Grant McEwan and is now completing his final semester in the Bachelor of Commerce program with a major in Accounting. Once he gets his degree, he will work toward his CPA designation (Chartered Professional Accountant), which is another 2.5 years of work experience before writing the exam.
When Dean isn’t working and pursuing his studies, he clears his mind by playing basketball, golf, and tennis.
