Civeo (Buffalo Catering) Tables Its Final Offer

Last Tuesday, the company tabled their final offer to your Negotiating Committee.

Your negotiating committee was comprised of:

  • Ryan Shewchuk
  • Noel Austin
  • Girlie Lusung
  • David Mugogo
  • Matt Gilks
  • Chris O’Halloran

You can find the company’s offer here.

Important Details About the Offer

The company has offered a 7.5% increase over the next 3 years, 2.5% a year.

In the company offer you will see 7 items listed as agreed to. These are the only items we were able to reach agreement on with the company.

The other items in their offer mostly focus on the removal of any references to Wapasu. The Union is still fighting at the Alberta Labour Relations Board to get justice for the workers that we unjustly removed from Wapasu.

The company was clear at the table that removing these references would be part of their final offer. That is not something your Negotiating Committee agreed to.

“This is the company’s offer,” said Chris O’Halloran Executive Director. “It was unfortunate that the company was not willing to consider any changes to the contract other than wages.”

We pushed the Company to provide:

  • Retroactive pay back to March 31, 2026 –they refused
  • A 200-hour guarantee – they refused
  • Massage coverage – they refused
  • First Aid kits in the Kitchen and House Keeping – they refused
  • Travel allowance back up to $325.00 a rotation – they refused
  • A 5% wage increase each year – they refused
